Lychee, or Litchi chinensis, is a tropical fruit native to Southern China. It is a small, round fruit with an outer layer that is thin and leathery. The pinkish-red skin covers sweet white flesh with a texture like that of grapes. Lychees have been cultivated in China for over 2,000 years.
